Facilitation-The state of a nerve in which it is stimulated but not to the point of threshold, the point at which it transmits a nerve signal.
Fascia-A sheet or band of fibrous connective tissue that covers, supports, or separates muscles. It also binds skin with underlying tissues.
Fascial Sheath-A flat sheet of connective tissue used for separation, stability, and muscular attachment points.
Fast Twitch-A type of muscle fiber designed for quick speed of contraction, rapid movements, and high capacity for sudden bursts of energy. Recruited primarily for high intensity and short duration activities such as sprinting, jumping, and throwing.
Fasting Blood Sugar (FBS)-The level of sugar in the bloodstream after a period of fasting.

Fiber-Fiber in plant foods that cannot be broken down by the digestive system.
Fibula-The smaller of the two bones located in the lower leg, located on the outside between the knee and ankle.
First Degree Sprain or Strain-Stretched fibers, minimal swelling, minimal limitations.
Flexibility-The capacity of a muscle to lengthen or stretch; the range of motion at a specific joint. Synonymous
withpliability.
Flexion-Movement about a joint in which the bones on either side of the joint are brought closer together, or decrease the angle of the bones forming a joint. Flexion is the opposite of extension. (e.g. bending the elbow or abiceps curl)
Flight phase-The stage of jogging or running when both feet are off the ground. Increased risk of injury with added body weight during flight phase activities.
Flutter Kick-An unsafe and ineffective exercise. The exerciser lies on their back, legs straight approximately 6-8 inches off the ground while alternating lifting legs up and down. The goal is to strengthen the abdominal muscles; however, proper neutral spine is difficult to maintain and results in the abdominal muscles being stretched instead of strengthened.
